“Popular, I know about popular. It`s not about who you are or your fancy car. You`re only ever who you were. Popular, I know about popular. And all that you have to do is be true to you. That`s all you ever need to know.” – Ariana Grande, Popular Song
Popularity is actually one of the only things that someone will remember about people from their education in school. The popular person remembers that they were popular. While the unpopular people remember that they were not popular along with who was popular. When you watch the music video and listen to the lyrics, you will realize that all you have to do is stay true to yourself. “You were singing all the songs that I don’t know. Now you`re in the front row, `Cause my song is popular”. A lot of todays famous people were not popular when they were younger. Take Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato for an example, both were picked on and bullied while they were younger. Bullied because they didn’t “fit in” with what is known as the “Popular Category” at the time. Both Demi and Taylor probably have a person in the front row of some of their concerts that picked on them or didn’t talk to them in school because they were not popular.
Goal: The point that I am trying to get across is that you don’t have to be cool, look pretty/handsome to be popular. All you have to do is act like yourself and be nice to people. Be true to yourself and you will be Popular in your own way.
