The Best Way to Defeat Your Fears is to Face Them

We all fear something in life. Fear is a normal sensation to every individual on this earth. Kids are scared of the dark. That fear of the dark is a normal thing for children and some adults to go through. Mostly because as kids we know that nothing good happens in the dark, along with knowing that no good comes from the dark. With adults that fear is probably because he/she has seen one too many horror movies and knows what happens when you go into a dark room. The funny thing about being scared of the dark is that once we flip the switch to turn the light on, that fear quickly vanishes into thin air. When I reached that point in my life where I no longer wanted to be the victim, I had to face many fears. The fear of not being accepted by my fellow peers if I tried to interact with them. The fear of standing up to those who made me feel uncomfortable in my own skin. The fear of not knowing what would happen to me next as I moved on with my life each and every day. It turns out that facing those fears was one of the best decisions that I have made in my life so far. I am no longer the victim. I am comfortable in my own skin. I am confident of my present. If I did not face those fears, I would not be writing this blog. I probably would not even be here today.

Goal: No matter how big or small your fear is, take the steps today to face it. The steps can be big or small, its up to you on how you approach it. When you have faced and defeated your fear, laugh at it in its “face”. So today start facing one of your fears. Trust me, you will not regret it.
