“Life is too short to not be grateful for every moment we are alive. Today I have so much to be thankful for.” – Demi Lovato
All too often in life we focus on the things that we don’t have, when in reality we should be focusing on what we already have. So what if you don’t have heat/good heater in your house! At least you have a home. So what if you have family staying at your house for thanksgiving, and as a result you have to sleep on the couch. At least you have a family to share dinner with. There are plenty of people out in your community/county/state/country that do not have a place to call home. That do not have loved ones to have/share Thanksgiving dinner with. How about when you were a little kid and you begged non-stop for an expensive toy for Christmas. Sooner or later your parents might have caved in and bought that present. What happens next? You played with it for a week or two and then it gets lost under your bed or gets shoved in a corner and never gets played with again. I am thankful for being able to go to college on a scholarship. I am thankful for all of the support that I have received from my friends and family throughout my life.
Goal: This holiday season, do NOT focus on what you don’t have. Focus on what you already have (family, home, food, jobs, toys/games, etc…). Go out of your comfort zone and donate your free time to a homeless shelter. Buy gifts for an angle tree. Leave a big tip for someone that you can tell needs it in their life. Most of all be thankful for your friends and family members (even if there is that one member in the family that nobody gets along with), and tell them how much you appreciate them.
HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!
